May 2022 saw us pack our bags, gather the dogs (our two energetic Border Collies!), and head north for an unforgettable adventure in Scotland! We were craving wide open spaces, breathtaking scenery, and a break from the ordinary, and Scotland certainly delivered. From the rugged Highlands to the windswept isles, this trip was a feast for the senses and a true escape.

The landscapes were simply breathtaking. Towering mountains, often shrouded in mist, gave way to shimmering lochs and valleys carpeted in vibrant green. We explored ancient castles perched on cliffs (with the dogs patiently waiting outside!), hiked through forests where sunlight dappled through the leaves, and strolled along endless beaches where the dogs could run and play to their hearts' content.

What struck me most was the raw, untamed beauty of it all. This is a land that feels truly wild, where nature reigns supreme. Even in May, there was a sense of ruggedness and resilience in the air, a reminder of the powerful forces that have shaped this incredible country.

Of course, no trip with two Border Collies is without its moments of chaos! We navigated muddy paws, enthusiastic greetings with sheep (thankfully no herding incidents!), and learned to appreciate the dog-friendly pubs after a long day of exploring.

Scotland offered the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, and we came home feeling refreshed and inspired.
